Fragrances: Perfume Oils & Custom-Scenting
Birne offers 75 distinctly different and unusual fragrances, and we are
always discovering and mixing more. The fragrances on the list below
are all available as perfume oils. Blended by
hand in limited quantities, these perfume oils are highly concentrated,
long-lasting, and alcohol-free. You can use them alone as personal
fragrances by applying them directly to your skin. We also use them to
custom-scent bath and body care products. Just tell us the fragrances you
like and the products you would like to scent with them, and we'll do the
rest.
Many fragrances are also available in glycerin soaps,
and some also scent our pillar candles.

This alphabetical fragrance list is our answer to the question, "What does
it smell like?"
Almond
Warm toasted almonds.
Aphrodite

Apple Cider
Crisp green apples spiced with

summer fruit.

Australian Mango
If you close your eyes,
you'll see and taste the golden flesh of ripe mangoes.
Autumn
Cool, crisp air suffused with ripe fall fruits.
Bergamot
Refreshingly light, clear, tart, and clean citrus blend of orange, lime, and
lemon with crisp green notes. An ideal fragrance for men or women.
Black Currant
Purple juice infused with the palest floral results in a fragrance that is
dark and unexpected.
Blackberry Sage
A tangy, herbaceous fragrance that combines the earthiness of sage with rich
berry notes of blackberry, black currant, and cassis, with a touch of warm
vanilla.
Blush Peony New!
Blush peonies laced with
violet and honeysuckle are blended with amber and soft musk.
Bosc Pear
A complex, multi-faceted pear
that smells of crisp autumn evenings.
Burnished Pear
Ambered pear with dark vanilla notes.
Cantaloupe
Chilled, ripe melon on a summer morning.
Caramel
Warm, creamy, rich caramel, mixed with a pinch of vanilla, anise, and musk.
Cassis
Tangy-sweet red currant.
China Berry
Red summer berries faintly scented with lily, rose, and rare florals.
China Fern
Lilies and rosepetals scattered over a bed of moss.
China Lily
Precious lilies embraced by sheer, warm musk.
China Rain New!
Fleeting green topnotes
highlight a bouquet of lily and rose, while musk and sandalwood form a rich
base accord softened by traces of moss.
Clear Amber
A light, warm, sheer amber that's wonderful on men and women.
Coconut
Creamy-white, sweet, and rich.
Cucumber
Crisply chilled, fresh, green summer treasure.
Cucumber Lime
Fresh, crisp cucumber with the tangy
juice of bright, green limes.
December
A warm blend of frankincense, myrrh, and vanilla forms a complex
and surprising fragrance that wears well on both men and women.
Earth
Warm, soft loam on a clear summer day. Spicy, with woody notes of cedar,
patchouli, vetivert, and sandalwood. An excellent fragrance for men or women.
Egyptian Musk
A barely-there musk so light that it's only revealed with slight changes in
temperature and subtly shifting fabrics. A perfect summer musk for men or
women.
Eucalyptus New!
Natural essential oil which
complements Eucalyptus & Mint Soak or Eucalyptus & Mint Glycerin Soap.
Frankincense
At once sharp and warm, this fragrance rich with wood resins is reminiscent
of darkly mossy places and green plants returned to the earth for the winter.
French Vanilla
Vanilla beans steeped in warm, sweetened cream.
Fresh Fig
Just like it tastes: an elusive, yet fragrant, lush, precious rosy-fleshed
fruit with pale floral notes.
Gaia

Part of the Goddess Collection trio of Gaia, Athena, and Aphrodite. In honor
of the Earth Mother, lavender, clary sage, and bergamot essential
oils, grace the elegant perfume of jasmine and muguet to inspire balance and
gratitude for the earth's bounty.
Gardenia
Thick, white velvet petals radiate the unmistakably rich perfume of the
perfect bloom.
Gingered Lilies
Luxuriously fragrant blooms with the distinctive spike of ginger.
Gold Honey
If it were edible (which it's
not!), you'd drizzle it over warm, buttered toast.
Golden Amber
A complex fragrance that stands distinct from its counterpart, Clear Amber.
While Clear Amber is crisp and subtle, Golden Amber is a warm, dark fragrance--
multi-layered, richly textured, and redolent.
Grass
New-mown fields on a hot summer day.
Green Pear
A crisp and fruity fresh scent.
Harvest
The warmth of the season with an unexpected bite of cool, green pear.
Honey
Honeyed blossoms with a powdery vetiver note.
Honey Tangerine
Sweet, warm honey blended with tart and juicy tangerine.
Houris
To the ancients, houris were beautiful,
paradisiacal creatures: voluptuous, dark-eyed women with bodies made entirely
of sandalwood. At Birne, Houris is a classic and very wearable sandalwood
oil for men and women.
Jasmine
Sweet-scented, pure white flowers.
Jasmine Tea
An infusion of pure white
jasmine steeped in aromatic green tea and warm spice accords.
Lavender
Natural essential oil fragrant with purple lavender buds.
Lemon Verbena
Citrusy-tangy without a bit of sweetness, this is a clean, fresh year-round
scent perfect for men and women, as well as for a refreshing environmental
fragrance.
Lemongrass Ginger New!
An aromatic blend of the spicy, warming accords of natural ginger essential
oil with a citrus note of lemongrass, which is treasured for its stimulating
and uplifting qualities.
Love
A glass of
fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice that
just happens to be sitting in a field of flowers.
Luna
A heady blend
of white summer blossoms--jasmine
and tuberose with dark vanilla notes.
Loganberry
Huge, luscious, purple berries dripping juice down your chin.
Mexican Chocolate
Melted milk chocolate with an edgy cinnamon top note.
Mint Green Lemons
So refreshing and so tart, is it the mint that's green, or is it the lemons?
We didn't know how else to name this citrusy blend infused with invigorating
mint leaves.
Myrrh
Herbaceous and faintly reminiscent of a dark amber.
Opium
Rich, spicy, dark and golden. This designer-type is the best
replication of the original we've smelled anywhere ever.
Orange
Natural essential oil that smells like a freshly peeled orange.
Patchouli
Dark, rich natural essential oil.
Pink Grapefruit
Freshly squeezed grapefruit juice.
Pomegranate
Bright ruby juice from garnet-jeweled fruit, warmed with vanilla.
Rain New!
The original in fresh,
clean simplicity. A sparkling blend of green florals dominated by muguet,
which is carefully balanced by a warm accord of
musk and precious woods, has made this a fragrance classic since 1970.
Red Plum
Bright and sweet-tart, it will make your mouth water. (Yes, really.)
Rose Honey
A lush infusion of rich, golden honey and velvety red rose petals.
Rosebud
Fragrant baby pink rosebuds.
Rosemary
A sharp, refreshing natural essential oil. Great for scenting household
linens or purifying the atmosphere.
Sun
Sprigs of sweet pea in a meadow on a late-August day.
Sweet Earth
Dark earthiness warmed and sweetened by vanilla.
Sweet Pea
The pink and purple blossoms of summer. A lively blend of lilac, green muguet,
heliotrope, and oakmoss.
Tea Rose
A lighter fragrance than Rosebud, this one evokes memories of green stems
bending under the weight of giant, peachy-pink blossoms.
Tuberose
With its creamy white flowers tinged with pale yellow, the tuberose is no
rose at all, but rather more like Jasmine and Gardenia in type and intensity.
In ancient traditions, it was said that the most virtuous of women would
succumb to the tuberose's seductive breath. So men wore it to entice women
who have not shown any interest in their advances, and women who wish to
excite men also wear it.
Vanilla
Vanilla beans.
Warm Pear
Warm, ripe, juicy, bees-buzzing-around-it pear.
Waterlily
Fresh citrus and bergamot top notes highlight a green floral heart of muguet,
rose, and jasmine with a slight musk effect as it warms on the skin.
Watermelon
Bright, juicy, and red, it smells like the melon--not the candy.
White Chocolate
A warm marriage
of almond and vanilla.
White Musk
A light, sheer musk which forms a complex fragrance as it warms on the skin.
